     Wood Gas Truck

We first heard about Woodgas through an alternative energy magazine . In the article it mentioned Wayne Keith’s incredible success with making woodgas. After reading the article our initial reaction was that it was a hoax, but the more we investigated it the more interested we were. 

 

We originally started this conversion as an Independent Study through SUNY Oswego during the Spring 09 semester. Since then we have still have continued to work on and make changes to the wood gasifier.

 

Our original design was modeled after the popular imbert style gasifier. We followed the plans we had and completed the gasifier only to discover that it did not produce woodgas.

 

After some time away from the project we decided to give it another shot. This time we choose to build the FEMA gasifier, due to the fact that it has a good success record and very clear plans.

 

Down the road we plan to redesign our own imbert style gasifier due to the many problems associated with the FEMA model.
